Today we continued with the collection after a hill ride. Collection can be hard for both horse and rider, so I try to explain as much as I can, different angle to today, we will see if it is any better.

We started today out with a trail ride to warm up Fancy then we started our first day of collection with shoulder control. I tried to really explain the reasons for collection and how it will help in the long run.

Today we used a different snaffle and discuss the reasons for it. We continue with our circles and straight stretches as well as work with our flag again.

Today we started out by showing the bit we use then continue with circles and straight stretches. We then introduce the flag to her again and finished with working the flag off of her back, teaching her how to handle pressure from a different position but with pressure she understood.

We showed how to use a set of draw reins and the benefits and negatives to using them. Fancy did good!

We began our lesson with circles, then went into our straight lines and showed how to stop them if they are charging or wanting to go to fast, which is the start to getting them to back off or rate. Fancy got better all the way around!

Today we came out with a willing to work Fancy on her turns and straight stretches! She thought about being difficult but listened to us and did as we asked! Kitty talked about bits and the uses of them as she cooled Fancy out.

Fancy Month Four – Day 10
Today we came out and worked Fancy on some leading and positioning then into some circles to get focus before we stepped on. She started out great and then tried to refuse to turn at the lope. Kitty really stuck with her and she finished good!
